Downingtown, PA (29 March 2012) - Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer (PAGS) and 1MINDSET announced today a partnership to soccer training, college recruitment consulting, and general sport consulting.
The professional soccer training component is built upon a “for girls, by girls” approach in which 1MINDSET will offer team and small group training, along with clinics and camps. The college recruitment aspect focuses on educating, guiding, and mentoring individuals, teams and entire athletic clubs through the college recruitment process in any sport, arming prospects and their families with the knowledge necessary to make one of the toughest decisions in life. Co-founders Alyssa Radu and Tiffany Williams have 12 years of collaborative experience as trainers and coaches, and look to fill a void for young female athletes in need of mentoring throughout their careers.
“We want to provide young athletes the necessary tools to be the best they can be, both on and off the field” says Radu, “to get them through the college recruiting process and beyond. We want to be life coaches for their entire athletic journey.”
1MINDSET is built on the concept that with the proper mindset - pride, passion, determination, perseverance, and fortitude- young athletes can achieve their goals. For many this includes a career in college sports.
“We have seen the recruiting process from all angles”, says Williams, “as players hoping to impress college coaches with our play on the field, and then as coaches ourselves, recruiting players to our universities. Therefore, we can offer a more candid perspective on the entire process.”
1MINDSET will custom design and facilitate innovative training and consulting programs for individual athletes, teams, and entire clubs. In addition, 1MINDSET offers team camps and small group training.
Radu, a native of Upper St. Clair, PA, was a four-year starter at Rutgers University. She began her head coaching career at the age of 24 at the New Jersey institute of Technology (NJIT), where she played an integral role in the reclassification of the program from Division II to Division I. Radu then took over the University of Maryland - Baltimore County (UMBC) program for four years. She has also coached for the Maryland Olympic Development Program, Freestate Soccer Alliance of the ECNL, and was Director of Coaching at Pipeline SC.
