There is a major rule change for all small-sided games (U9 to U12).  Goalkeepers are not permitted to punt or drop kick a ball from their penalty area to the opponent's penalty area.  If this occurs, the opponent will be awarded an indirect free kick from the center spot of the halfway line.  This rule does not apply to any punted or drop kicked ball that lands outside the opposing penalty area, no matter how far the ball is kicked.

A point of emphasis for this year is that the Referee MUST receive a coach's pass for every coach on the sideline for a game.  There is no limit to the number of coaches permitted on the sideline for a game, but each coach must present his/her pass to the Referee prior to the game.  The Referee will hold all of the passes until the game is completed.  Only carded coaches and players are permitted on the team sideline.
